World-Class Hiking in Ouray, Colorad

Pick a Trail, Any Trail

From short, easy hikes to long, technical treks, there are more than 17 hiking trails accessible from the center of Ouray. These impressive trails are maintained by the forest service as well as a volunteer trail group.

Trails range from the easy Cascade Falls to the challenging Horsethief Bear Creek Loop. Many hikers new to Ouray find the altitude and terrain a bit steeper and more challenging than elsewhere. As a result, it's always best to allow for slightly longer hiking times.

A list of trails with detailed descriptions are available at the Ouray Trail Group website. The Ouray Trail Group is a nonprofit corporation dedicated to preserving Ouray trails and encouraging their safe use. Purchase a trail map at area businesses or the visitor's center to support this important organization.
